Yup, went and purchased an iPhone 4. Jailbroke it the next day...


All I can say is, this is the ultimate portable micro computer.

OK so I finally convinced my company to switch to all iphones for field guys.

What are the real advantages to jailbreaking?

It isn't good...it's GREAT!

Main advantage of jailbreaking? Your phone can do things that Apple never intending or allowed it to do. Things like all the free apps you can handle (if you're into that sort of thing) or access your home computer through your iPhone. Basically, there's a whole other world of custom software for the iPhone once your jailbreak it. You're no longer at Apple's mercy as to what content you should have on your phone or how you use it.


Main downside? Apple has decided that jailbreaking voids your warranty.

My favorite is the Maps search to TomTom navigation tweak. Search anything in Maps, click a button, information transfers to TomTom and now you got turn-by-turn directions without having to manually put in an address.

Ummmm, just update back to the Apple firmware and take it back in. They would never know the difference...lol.
